Course Description:

Roblox is a gaming platform and game creation system where people can game, connect, and create through millions of different games.

In this training, you’ll learn the different types of games in Roblox that can fit your play therapy treatment goals, whether it be for individual or group therapy.  You’ll find ways to engage with your client, capture interest, utilize play therapy interventions, and have shared positive experiences.

Gaming with your clients or witnessing their play allows your client to share their interests and gather information to inform assessments, treatment planning, and notice behavioral patterns. By using a strength-based approach, you’ll expand your lens to see how the client's positive attributes show up in Roblox, so you can highlight and build on those strengths.

You'll learn to observe and evaluate the social, communication, and emotional regulation skills of your clients.

Participants will be invited to engage in Roblox to play and understand the benefits and experience of Roblox, so that they can feel more confident in utilizing Roblox in their practice. We’ll also review therapist self-care strategies when using Roblox to help you be present, attentive, and utilize therapy skills in this video game environment.
