PLEASE NOTE: All participants must have their camera on, and name clearly displayed the entire 3 hours. Participants will be required to complete an evaluation and post-test immediately upon conclusion of the workshop to receive credit for contact hours. The CE certificate is awarded to those who attend the entire webinar.

About the Presenter:
Amy Nelson, LCSW, RPT-S, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor. She specializes in the support of trauma and attachment, sensory processing differences, and emotional regulation disorders in children 3 to 5 years old. Amy is the founder of Emotional Milestones, LLC, with a mission to help early childhood professionals prioritize and optimize mental and behavioral supports to young children. To support healthy social-emotional development in young children, mental health professionals need to understand the science behind how these skills develop. This workshop will demonstrate how to use developmentally appropriate strategies for structuring telehealth sessions with young children. Participants will have an opportunity to develop creative play therapy interventions that can be used virtually to promote the development of social-emotional skills with young children 3 to 5 years old.
Please Note: This workshop will highlight/demonstrate features in Zoom.

1) Demonstrate how to strategically create developmentally appropriate telehealth sessions.
2) Discuss the science behind social-emotional development in young children.
3) Design 2-3 creative play therapy interventions to use in telehealth sessions with young children.
Graduate level mental health students & licensed mental health practitioners. This seminar is a beginning level course. This workshop is appropriate for licensed and pre-licensed mental health professionals, including psychologists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, and professional counselors. Play therapy credit may not be awarded to non-mental health professionals.
Please note that the Association for Play Therapy (APT) alone holds the right to accept or deny any continuing education training at its discretion.
It is the responsibility of each professional to check with their state or national licensing board to obtain continuing education credit for this seminar. Most state and national licensing boards will approve continuing education courses which cover clinical topics, practice management skills, legal and ethical responsibilities, and stress management. It is your responsibility as the license/certificate holder to be aware of and abide by the continuing education rules and guidelines set forth by your licensing board.
